Project Supervisor Design Process

Under the old regulations, on behalf of our clients we held the role of PSDS on many of their projects, so we had the experience and knowledge built up to enable us take on the more demanding role of PSDP. Since the introduction of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulation in November 2006 there are a number of changes to the old regulations and we have highlighted a sample of these changes below.

The following data is quoted from the Construction Regulations 2006, S.I. No 504.

  • Regulation 6: Project Supervisor Design Process.
  • Regulation 7:
    • Client has a duty to ascertain suitability of Project Supervisor, Designer & Contractors
  • Regulation 8:
    • Client must keep a safety file available: Purpose-safe future maintence, demolition, construction,extension, alteration and other construction works.
  • Regulation 9:
    • Client shall provide a Preliminary Safety & Health Plan to everyone tendering for the role of PSCS
  • Regulation 11:
