Aims / Objectives

The upgrading and improving of insulation is one of the most cost effective methods of reducing heating bills and improving the carbon footprint in any home. There are a several approaches available BUT it is vitally important that installers are well trained in the approach and installation of the available measures.

Sustainable Energy Ireland’s Home Energy Saving’s (H.E.S.) scheme puts the onus on Approved Contractors to be capable of correctly installing insulation in homes. The Approves Contractor is responsible for ensuring that such work does not in any way affect the performance or Building Regulations compliance of the dwelling.

The Contractor must provide a competent workforce to carry out the works. This includes all relevant training and certification as appropriate to each element of works being carried out. All nominated personnel must have relevant professional training & product specific manufacturer training if they are carrying out the works as appropriate. Relevant training records and certificates must be maintained by the Contractor and may be subject to inspection by SEI and/or its agents at any time. HSS CAN PROVIDE THIS TRAINING FOR YOU.

SEI REGISTRATION

SEI requires the contractor to have relevant professional training. When you complete our training, you can apply for registration on SEI’s register of Approved Contractors to take part in the Home Energy Savings scheme. You can review the registration process on www.sei.ie.

TRAINING COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this Home Insulation Installers training course is to provide Contractors, their staff & new entrants with a mechanism to enter the insulation installation market, which is expected to create massive opportunities for contractors & workers, as a result of the newly introduced Home Energy Saving’s (H.E.S.) scheme.

The aim of our Home Insulation Installers training programme is to provide Contractors & their staff with the knowledge and skills required to assess the insulation requirements of a domestic dwelling, evaluate all options available, determine the most cost effective solution, how to manage all insulation materials correctly and how to install each insulation material type.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

Anyone who has a responsibility, or is involved in the installation of insulation in domestic dwellings, including Building Contractors, General Operatives, Construction Engineers, Building Services Engineers, Architects, Architectural Technologists, Quantity Surveyors or Project Managers and other experienced property and construction professionals, Property Owners, Plasterers, Carpenters and Advisors.

EXAMINATION

There is a 1 – hour theory exam plus a 30 minute Short Answer Test, consisting of multiple choice questions. The course also consists of continual assessment throughout the 3 days.

On successful completion of the course, certification will be issued.
