CPC Driver Training

For Bus Drivers

Driver CPC came in to effect for bus drivers on the 10th September 2008. It applies to any person with a category D, D1, ED or ED1 licence. If you drive a bus for a living, you must complete periodic training in accordance with the RSA approved Driver CPC syllabus.

  • The Driver CPC includes four compulsory modules, which all drivers must complete, they being modules one to four.
  • Module four is a specific module for the Bus driver.
  • If you drive both a Bus and HGV for a living you must complete both module five for Bus and module six for HGV.
  • The title of each of the modules for Bus drivers is shown below.
  • Each module equates to one days training per year.

Module 1 – Control of the vehicle and Eco-driving techniques.

Module 2 – Minimizing risks and managing emergencies in the transport industries

Module 3 – Health and Safety of the professional driver

Module 4 – Role of the professional driver in the transport industries

Module 5 – The professional bus driver

CPC Training Truck Drivers

Driver CPC comes in to effect for HGV/LGV drivers on the 10th September 2009. It applies to any person with a category C, C1, EC or EC1 licence. If you drive a lorry or van which requires a licence in category C, C1, EC, EC1 for a living, you must complete periodic training in accordance with the RSA approved Driver CPC syllabus.

  • The Driver CPC includes four compulsory modules, which all drivers must complete, they being modules one to four.
  • Module five is a specific module for the HGV/LGV driver.
  • If you drive both a Bus and HGV for a living you must complete both module five for Bus and module six for HGV.
  • The content of the five modules for HGV/LGV drivers is shown below.
  • Each module equates to one days training per year.
